Colonel Michail Michaletos was born in Athens and graduated from the Hellenic Military Academy, where he studied from 1993 to 1997. He has served in various Hellenic Army commands. He has also served in the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), in the Intelligence Division for 10 years. His last post was as Commander in the Hellenic Info Ops Joint Unit.  Colonel Michaletos has attended numerous training programs and courses abroad (in Belgium, the United States, United Kingdom, Germany), all related to the Intelligence discipline. Additionally, he had the opportunity to serve in the NATO/ SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) as Section Head, to the J25 (Intelligence Plans, Policy & Training) Branch. He is a graduate of the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College (2017–2018), and the Hellenic National Defence College (2022–2023). He holds Master’s degree in Managing Risks into World Politics from the University of Peloponnese and he is a certified “Project Manager & Risk Manager”. As of April 2025, he has assumed duties as Deputy Commandant of the Joint European Union Intelligence School (JEIS).
