Military Exercise 09 (MILEX 09) was conducted from 17 to 26 June 2009 in the framework of the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP).
MILEX 09 was a Command Post Exercise (CPX) focused on key military aspects of crisis management. During the conduct of the exercise, the Hellenic EU Operation Headquarters (EL EU OHQ) in Larissa was activated for the first time.
The exercise concentrated on the interaction between the EU Operation Headquarters (OHQ) in Larissa (Greece) and the EU Force Headquarters (FHQ) in Naples (Italy), in the context of an autonomous EU-led military operation.
